Good idea, wine!
Good idea, wine!
how about that.
On the weekend I went to a wine shop in Toyonaka run by a mom from my old class. Ever since I finished working, she has been asking me to come visit, and so I finally had some time and I went over.
It’s normally just a wine shop, but there are a few tables so if you want to do wine tasting, you can.
Because I came, other moms decided to bring their kids after school and we had a small wine party.
It was great to be able to talk to the moms outside of school, and the kids also seemed so happy with their new class, it made me feel better about leaving.
If you’re ever in Toyonaka, check out HTS. They have a great selection of wines with some good cheese and cured ham to go with it.
Weekends for me are all about two things: eating and drinking to excess with good friends.
It’s one of the reasons I force myself to go to the gym during the week. I know I have a weekend full of cheap wine and gluttonous foods to look forward to.
This weekend was no different. Friday night I went out with my coworkers, Saturday night some friends and I had a small dinner party with amazing ‘simmered-all-day’ beef stew, a colorful veggie tray with homemade dip, and the biggest gyoza I have ever seen (a souvenir from Mie prefecture.) Of course with lots and lots of wine and nice conversation.
Today the weather started getting a bit colder, but I had bills to pay and errands to run. I rewarded myself with a piece of store bought tiramisu and an “Italian” cafe mocha from Circle K.
It’s great to have a nice weekend and still feel refreshed and ready for work on Monday. Only 3 more Mondays of work left!
Thanksgiving Mimosas/Bellinis
I prefer bellinis to mimosas (peach vs orange juice) but the mixed fruit juice I bought has a little bit of everything.
In a glass:
Add frozen fruit to the bottom (I found blueberries)
Then add some peach liqueur and let it sit for a few seconds. The fruit will absorb some of the alcohol.
Pour in some bubbly (I prefer sparkling rosé)
Then top it all off with some fruit juice. Give it a quick stir and enjoy.
I could drink these all day and not really get drunk, but still feel good.
Have a great holiday!
What’s classier than chilled red wine? Chilled red wine NOT in a wine glass.
I guess they were all out of mugs.
